File Sizes

  • File size measures the size of files that are taken on the computer device, memory cards, pen drives....etc.
  • Typically it is measured in bytes or bits.
            Byte:  It is a unit of digital information that most commonly consists of 8-bits.
            Bit:  It is a basic units of information in computing and   digital communication. It is commonly represented                       as either 0 or 1.
  • The actual amount of disk space consumed by the file depends on file system.
  • Maximum file size system supports depends on the number of bits reserved to store the information and the total size of the file system.
