Serif vs Sans Serif

It is the small decorative on the end of some of the strokes that makeup the letters and  the symbols.Sans Serif does not have flourishes or decorative.
It is mainly used in printed books and magazines.It is mainly used for online work and blogs creation.
At lower resolution Serif characters harder to read.
    At lower resolution small Serif characters harder to read than the Sans Serif character.
    Ex:  Bodoni, Century, Garamond, Georgia, Times New Roman, Courier, Palatino.Ex:  Arial, Futura, Impact, Myriad, Tahoma, Helvetica, Vardana.
